Elon Musk threatens to leave Trump's advisory council if U.S. exits Paris Climate Deal
WASHINGTON — As the Paris Climate Deal looms over the American populace, rumors have begun to spread that President Donald Trump will pull the U.S. out of the deal.
Elon Musk, a member of the advisory councils for Trump, spoke out on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon with the following tweet:
Don't know which way Paris will go, but I've done all I can to advise directly to POTUS, through others in WH & via councils, that we remain— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) May 31, 2017
Musk, who controls Solarcity, SpaceX, and Tesla, has been one of biggest proponents for fighting climate change, and it appears if Trump leaves the Paris conference, then Musk leaves his advisory role, according to his tweets.
When questioned on Twitter about what he would do if Trump did decide to pull out, Musk responded with the following:
Will have no choice but to depart councils in that case— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) May 31, 2017
