Electric bills may go down for some NH customers

MANCHESTER - Electric bills could go down for some customers in New Hampshire.

Eversource Energy has asked regulators to reduce its average overall rates by more than 7.5 percent beginning July 1. Eversource says the reduction comes because of lower than anticipated wholesale energy prices. This would allow the company to reduce its Energy Service Charge. The company has requested a slight increase in a few other charges

If the request is approved by the state Public Utilities Commission, a residential customer purchasing 500 kWh/month from Eversource will see a reduction of more than six dollars.

Eversource is the state's largest electric utility, serving more than 500,000 homes and businesses.
