Elderly Hollis woman tied up while vandals rummage through home

HOLLIS - "It's very unusual for Hollis actually, this is very strange, it's like why didn't they pick this house?" Bill Foster asked.

His eighty-six-year old, mom lives right next door to 8 Worcester Road where an elderly woman was tied up as vandals rummaged through her home. He's fearing for his own mother's safety and he's not the only one searching for answers.

"Something going on, didn't know what it was; we went on the internet to find out," Forrester said.

"My neighbor posted something on Facebook and that's really all that's been happening just rambles on Facebook," Butch Valley said.

Police have yet to name or catch the suspects in the break-in but with three young kids of his own, butch valley is shocked. Officials haven't told anyone about the crime.

"They didn't even knock on my door to let me know my neighbor was broken in to at 5AM," Valley said.

Police will only say several people broke into the home but they are confident no one else is in danger.

Lieutenant Richard Mello of the Hollis Police Department said, "Like anything, keeping your home and your vehicle secure. And if you have an alarm system, utilizing that alarm system. Be vigilant and watch out for your neighbors and your own property."

In the meantime, the investigation continues.
