OPINION: ESPN Nothing But Trolls for Ranking Manning Higher Than Brady
There is a list circulating right now that can only be called absurd to not only every sports fan ever but to New England sports fans especially.
The list is a presentation by ESPN as part of ESPN The Magazine's 20th anniversary. The article titled "The Dominant 20" is a compilation of the 20 top athletes across all sports using an almost incomprehensible math formula to place them in rankings from 1 to 20.
Just to give you some idea of the questionable formula used, somehow ESPN ranked Tiger Woods as the most dominant athlete in the last 20 years. If he was that potent of an athlete, he should have been able to get away from his golf club wielding wife.

Let's get down to the nitty-gritty here. As New England sports fans, specifically Patriots fans, how are we supposed to reconcile the fact that ESPN ranked Peyton Manning as the No. 3 dominant athlete, while the GOAT Tom Brady comes in at No. 20. Inconceivable!
There can only be a couple of reasons for this. First, we have all seen how data can be manipulated and shaped to reflect what media wants you to believe (see: fake news). In their formula, ESPN actually states that "data was adjusted." The second reason this aberration may have occurred is the nationwide bias against the Patriots. The entire country, with the exception of the New England states love to hate the Patriots.
For example, when a person is a contestant on a game show and mentions the fact that they are a Patriots fan, the audience, and in some cases the host of the show, boo and ridicule them publicly. There have been two examples that can be referenced. The first one was an episode of the "100,000 Pyramid" hosted by ex-Giants player Michael Strahan. The contestant from Boston stated that they were a die hard Pats fan, which generated boos, cat calls from the audience and a generous eye roll from Strahan.
There was even a clue given in another episode of that show where the category was the NFL. The clue given was, "The team that wins all the time." The answer given, "the Patriots." This also happens regularly on the show "Match Game." Heaven forbid that anyone is a Patriots fan! If you are, be prepared to be scorned and ridiculed. But I digress.
Let's face it America, Brady IS the GOAT. Let's go over the only real numbers that count: Super Bowl rings. Manning 2, Brady 5. Now that's dominance.
So how on earth can Manning come in No. 3 with a dominance rating of 12.7 while Brady comes in at the bottom of the list at No. 20 only rating a 6.3 according to ESPN?
