Editorial: Brexit from the same people who brought you 'Boaty McBoatface'
What’s most shocking about the United Kingdom’s vote to exit the European Union is that people are shocked.
It’s amazing how quickly people forget.
This is the same group of people that made waves back in April for their choice to name a state-of-the-art ship “Boaty McBoatface.”
The Natural Environment Research Council had reached out to the public for suggestions for the boat’s name.
More than 7,000 names were suggested but Boaty McBoatface won by a landslide with 124,109 votes and spurred lots of attention on the Internet and a Twitter account.
There were copycat names, like the train operator in London who named his train “Trainy McTrainface.”
