Ebola victim, Thomas Eric Duncan, has died
The first American sickened with the Ebola virus on US soil, has died.
Thomas Eric Duncan, 42, was being treated at a Dallas hospital and officials had in recent days seemed optimistic on his progress. Doctors were giving Duncan an experimental antiviral drug and said yesterday his condition was had improved slightly.
Duncan arrived to the US from Liberia on September 20th and showed signs of the virus on September 25. In those 5 days, Duncan came in close contact with 48 people. According to the CDC, the maximum incubation period for the virus is 21 days but most symptoms are seen in 8 to 10 days.
