Early morning fire damages Keene apartment building; tenants get out safely
KEENE - A Davis Road apartment building was damaged by fire early Sunday morning, but all the tenants got out safely.
Firefighters say smoke was coming from the second floor when they arrived around 1:30 a.m., and the fire was quickly knocked down.
Fire damage was contained to one room with smoke and heat damage throughout the second-floor apartment. The three-unit apartment building at 29 Davis Road is owned by Keene Rental Properties.
Damage is estimated around $40,000 and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
