Early morning fire damages exterior of a Manchester building


MANCHESTER - The outside of a building on Laurel Street was damaged by flames after a fire started in the trash cans in the rear alley.

Firefighters say they arrived at 174 Laurel St. early Sunday morning and found the tenants trying to put out the fire themselves. The fire was quickly extinguished and damage was limited t the exterior of the building. No one was injured and the tenants were able to return to their home.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
