Durham Town Council votes to have $14 million budget for 2016

DURHAM – The Durham Town Council voted Monday to approve the $14.1 million budget for the 2016 fiscal year.

The unanimous vote will approve a multi-million budget that is a more than 2 percent increase in the town’s spending than previous budgets.

According to Fosters.com, although the budget is rising, the municipal tax rate will stay flat at last year’s rate of $8.48 per $1,000 assessed property value.
