Drug sweep in Laconia nets 20 arrests in 2 hours


LACONIA - An early morning sweep that sent officers out at 6 a.m. to knock on the doors of people suspected of drug-related crimes netted 20 arrests on Thursday.

According to police, the 20 suspects were rounded up within two hours without incident.

The sweep came after more than six months of investigation into drug-related crimes, including under-cover surveillance and controlled buys to compile evidence that led to Thursday's arrests.

Police say more arrests are expected for additional suspects.
