Drivers Beware: Late September is peak breeding season for moose in NH, New England
Drivers, be alert for moose - not just in New Hampshire but in New England, too.
A driver has already died after hitting a moose last week in Lincoln.
Moose are more likely to be crossing roads at this time of year, especially after dark or early in the morning.
The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department says the peak of their breeding season is late September and the first two weeks of October.
Drivers are asked to be vigilant and reduce speed when they see moose crossing signs along the highway.
