Driver in Salem seriously injured after rollover on Route 28

SALEM - A woman was seriously injured on Route 28 on Sunday morning after the vehicle she was driving rolled over multiple times.

Police say the driver was heading north on Route 28 and it's not clear why the vehicle crossed onto the southbound side, went off the road and hit a rock, causing it to roll.

The driver was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital. Her name has not been released.

The accident remains under investigation and the southbound side of the road at the Range Road intersection was closed on Sunday morning while the Salem police conduct their investigation.
