Driver flips car, flown to Boston hospital with life-threatening injuries


NEWFIELDS - A young driver spun off the road, hit a utility pole and had to be extricated from the vehicle. Police say he was flown by helicopter to Boston with life-threatening injuries.

Police say Joshua Brucker, 22 of Exeter, was coming around a curve when his car went off the road, flipped sideways, and struck a utility pole on the driver's side.

Friday, a little after 6 p.m., police responded to report of a motor vehicle crash on Route 85 near the Exeter town line.

Police said he was driving a 2006 Subaru Baja on Route 85 near the Exeter town line when he went off the road.

Rescuers had to extract Brucker from the car and he flown by Med-Flight to Beth Israel Deaconess Emergency Room in Boston with life-threatening injuries.

Police said the accident is still under investigation but speed may have been a factor in the crash. Anyone with any information about the accident is asked to contact Sergeant Steven Wheeler at (603) 223-8634
