Dover police search for man accused of stalking and witness tampering

DOVER - Local police are looking for a man accused of domestic violence who reportedly violated a requirement that stay away from his alleged victim.

Police say Nicholas Leis, 22, was arrested Thursday, charged with a domestic violence-related assault and released on bail.

Police say on Friday he contacted his alleged victim and tried to convince her not to cooperate with police or prosecutors.

Police say they are now looking to arrest Leis to charge him with stalking and witness tampering. Police are also investigating a report that Leis made threats against Dover police officers and the Strafford County Superior Court.

Leis is described as a white male, about 5-foot-10-inches tall, 140 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact the Dover Police Department at (603) 742-4646 or their local police department. People wishing to remain anonymous can call the Dover Crimeline (603-749-6000) or go to dovernhcrimeline.org on the Internet.
