Dover police: Gonic woman stole $40,000 from Wentworth-Douglas Hospital

DOVER - Police have arrested a Gonic woman they say used business credit cards belonging to Wentworth Douglass Hospital for personal trips and purchases that added up to more than $40,000.

Michele Berry of Gonic faces two felony charges: theft by unauthorized taking, and fraudulent use of a credit card. Police say Berry turned herself in at police headquarters Friday at 9:30 a.m. The arrest followed an investigation that began when Wentworth-Douglass employees notified the police of irregularities with the credit cards in December, 2014.

Berry was released on $7,000 bail, and is scheduled for an appearance in Dover district court on June 17.
