Dover police catch man wanted on charges of stalking and witness tampering

DOVER - Dover police found their man just after midnight on Saturday.

Police were looking for Nicholas Leis, 22, who was wanted on charges of stalking and witness tampering. Police say he was out on bail on a domestic violence charge when he violated a requirement that he stay away from his alleged victim. Police say he contacted her after his release and tried to convince her not to cooperate with police or prosecutors.

Leis was taken into custody at an apartment on Martha's Way on the new charges. Police says he tried to flee out the back of the apartment but was quickly apprehended. He now faces an additional charge of resisting arrest.
