Dover man sustains minor injuries in wild crash in Rochester

ROCHESTER - A driver who said he fell asleep at the wheel escaped a serious crash with minor injuries when his car left the roadway and struck a utility pole and flipped.

Steven Rogers, 31, of Dover was driving north on Pickering Road Tuesday at 4:40 a.m. the when accident occurred. Police arrived on scene to find the car overturned, the utility pole snapped in half, and live wires on the ground. Rogers was standing on the side of the roadway, police said.

There was extensive damage done to the vehicle and Rogers was transported to Wentworth Douglas Hospital for precautionary measures and minor injuries.

The Rochester Police are asking anyone who may have information that could assist with this investigation, to call the Rochester Police Department at (603) 330-7128.
