Dover man convicted in knife attack


DOVER — Paul Skaltsis, 26, of Rochester, who attacked another man with a knife and stun gun was convicted on Friday for first- and second-degree assault.

Skaltsis was also found guilty of being a felon in possession of a weapon, according to the Union Leader.

Judge Mark Howard decided to let Skaltsis remain out on cash bail under the supervision of community corrections.

During the trial, Skaltsis told the jury he was acting in self-defense when he used his knife and stun gun during a fight with Chris Joaquin, who was drunk and pounding on his door in the middle of the afternoon on May 6.
