MANCHESTER - A German Shepherd named "Lotto" will be reunited with his owners after a he spent a week-and-a-half in the woods.

Lotto was in a serious car crash on Interstate 93 in Bow on July 23. He took off from the truck he was riding in. Granite State Dog Recovery (GDSR) set up a trap in the area to catch him. The trap worked, and after 11 days Lotto was rescued.

Susan Pinché, Vice-President of GSDR, says Lotto was taken to an emergency veterinary hospital in Manchester and is recovering. She says he was covered in hundreds of ticks and he could have a broken tail and bruised ribs, but otherwise he is okay.

Granite State Dog Recovery is asking for donations to help with the costs of x-rays and medical care for Lotto and other dogs like him.
