PORTSMOUTH — Dogs may have a new park to run around on Route 33.
The Department of Public Works will host a public information meeting on Oct. 5 at 4:30 p.m. to discuss plans for the dog park, Seacoastonline reported.
This park would replace the off-leash dog park on Perice Island during the 4-year construction to upgrade the wastewater treatment plan.
This location was selected due to the large parking lot and open space under the power lines. The city plans to mow some of the upland vegetation on the site to provide an additional trail space.
Currently there is one informal trail.
