Dog mushers form walking team to raise awareness for suicide prevention in Concord

CONCORD — Dog mushers are raising awareness for suicide prevention with "Out of Darkness" - a walk to be held on the grounds of the state capital from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24.

The six mushers will be accompanied by some of their Siberian and Alaskan huskies.

The walk will raise funds for the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention.

Jaye Foucher of Wentworth, Corina and Scott Alexander of Sanbornton, Makayla Kinsley of Rumney, Whatleigh Torsey of Bridgewater, and Michael Tierney of Salisbury make up the team called Howls for Hope.

The Howls for Hope team has raised $1,300 to date, and plans to continue toward generating funds.
