Dog killed, firefighter hurt in Troy fire

TROY - A firefighter was hurt and a dog died in a three-alarm fire that ravaged a Granite Street apartment building late Saturday night into Sunday morning.

The Union-Leader reported two residents are displaced by the fire that broke out at 11:45 p.m. Saturday. Fire Chief Mark Huntoon said the fire started on the porch and quickly spread to a third-floor apartment. The roof, third floor and second-floor porch were destroyed by the fire. The second floor apartment and first floor had significant water damage, Huntoon said.

Huntoon said a firefighter had a wrist injury after being hit by a piece of falling slate from the roof. A dog died in the third-floor apartment.
