Discussion of transgender policy at NH school district continues with public forum
CANDIA — Discussion regarding a transgender and gender non-conforming student policy in the Candia school district will continue with another public forum.
The school board adopted a policy in May that is meant to offer protection against discrimination for transgender and gender non-conforming students, the Union Leader reported. Within that policy, students could use whichever bathroom coordinates with their gender identity.
The forum, scheduled to be held Thursday in the cafeteria/gym of the Henry W. Moore School, will allow for a review of the policy, offering the public a chance to voice their opinion. Residents also can send a written testimony to Superintendent Charles Littlefield at the SAU 15 offices in Hooksett.
