DEVELOPING: 10 dead in Oregon community college shooting

ROSEBURG, Ore. - A sheriff said 10 people were killed in a shooting at an Oregon community college.

Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin said another seven people also are injured.

It is the "best, most accurate information we have at this time," Hanlin said.

Earlier, Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum said the 10 were killed in the rampage at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg.

It's unclear what led to the discrepancy. Hanlin has said the gunman died after a shootout with police. He didn't clarify whether the shooter was included in the 10 fatalities.

Hanlin said three people who were critically injured in the shooting have been transferred to hospitals in the Eugene area.
