Details emerge in case of Nashua woman accused of abusing 3-year-old girl
NASHUA — Court documents illuminated more details in the case of a Nashua woman who is accused of assaulting a 3-year-old girl this summer, reports the Union Leader.
Brittney Bellino, 23, 135 Ash St. will return to court Thursday for a probable cause hearing.
She faces a felony charge of second-degree assault on the child, with whom she has no relation.
A friend of the child's father reported seeing Bellino, who was the father's girlfriend at the time, abuse the girl and her younger sister on multiple occasions, court documents say.
Reports say that the friend witnessed Bellino bend back the girls legs so that her heels touched her buttocks while the child was having a tantrum on her belly.
An affidavit by a Nashua police detective says Bellino rubbed the girl's face into the cement, and struck her face on the floor.
Three people reported allegations of child abuse to police earlier in July after discovering the victim's 1-year-old sister suffered a fractured leg while in the care of Bellino, according to court documents.
While Bellino claimed that the tantrum was responsible for the child's injuries to her forehead, she did admit that she can be "too physical" with the children, according to the affidavit.
Bellino is free on a $250 cash bail, but is forbidden to have contact with any children.
