Derry woman faces more than a dozen charges in domestic assault
NASHUA - A 19-year-old woman is facing numerous charges following an assault committed in front of an infant in a car, police said.
Police say Devae Nichols, 19, of Derry, assaulted a woman she was involved in a domestic relationship with on Friday while an infant was in the car. The victim told police Nichols punched her, armed herself with a knife, threatened her and caused a minor injury to her leg.
Nichols faces felony charges of second-degree assault-domestic violence, second-degree assault, and two counts of criminal threatening. She also faces misdemeanor charges domestic violence, six counts of simple assault and six counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Each of the felony charges is punishable by up to seven years in prison. Each misdemeanor is punishable by up to a year in jail. She is being held on $15,000 cash bail until her arraignment today.
