DERRY- Derry Town Councilor Josh Bourdon announced Wednesday he is running for Executive Council in District 3.
The Democrat made the announcement on his Facebook page, saying he is running to make a difference in the fight against the opioid epidemic.
"The amount of people affected by substance abuse is escalating at alarming rates and it scares the heck out of me. It's time we put our families first and do something about it," Bourdon said.
Bourdon touts his experience supporting his constituents in Derry in the recent budget battle.
The seat is currently held by Republican Chris Sununu.
Fellow Democrat and Salem Attorney Beth Roth has also announced she is running.
