DERRY - Police arrested a Derry man on 17 counts of possessing child abuse images on Thursday.

Johnny Ray Martin, 24, turned himself in to Derry police after being notified of a warrant for his arrest.

The warrant was the result of an investigation that began with a tip to the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force five months ago.

The tip suggested that pornographic images of teens were being exchanged via the internet.

Law enforcement identified at least four female minors who were victims in this case.

Martin was released on $5,000 bail, and is scheduled to appear in court in June.
