Derry man arrested on multiple child pornography charges

DERRY - A Derry man has been arrested and charged with multiple counts child pornography.

Police say, Matthew Rettig, 23, had sexually-explicit images on his computer, which was seized and searched by members of the Derry Police in conjunction with the Internet Crimes against Children Task Force.

Rettig, of 124 Chases Grove, has been charged with five counts of attempted possession of child sexual images, distribution of child sexual images, solicitation to manufacture of sexual child images, certain uses of a computer prohibited, endangering the welfare of a child and indecent exposure.

Some of the crimes were allegedly perpetrated using apps like "Snapchat" and the alleged victims are between 11 and 22 years old.

Rettig is facing nine felonies and one misdemeanor.

Rettig's bail was set at $5,000.
