Derry man accused of sexual assault on young girls will head to trial

BRENTWOOD - A Derry man charged with sexually assaulting two girls will head to trial.

According to the New Hampshire Union Leader, Louie Branco, 53, did not strike a plea deal with prosecutors after a closed-door settlement conference March 18. His trial will begin June 6.

Branco is charged with aggravated felonious sexual assault for allegedly luring a 9-year-old girl and a 12-year-old girl into his car with a promise to take them to buy candy and sexually assaulting them. The alleged assaults occured between Jan. 1, 2014 and June 15, 2014.

Branco has pleaded not guilty on all charges and is free on bail.
