DERRY - Police arrested a man after finding explicit images of young girls ranging from 2 to 12 years old on his personal computer, they said.

After receiving a tip on Friday, police arrested Richard A. Germain, 72 of Derry, on a warrant for possessing child pornography.

Police executed a search warrant for Germain's home at 58 English Range Rd. where several computers, USB devices, DVDs and electronic storage devices were seized.

Three of the devices were discovered to have their hard drives removed and destroyed, and examination of the remaining devices led to the discovery of a significant number of child porn images.

He has been charged with four counts of attempted possession of child pornography and one count of falsifying physical evidence.

Germain was held on $9,000 cash bail, transported to the Rockingham County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on March 10.
