Derry firefighter accused of assault reinstated in that town
DERRY - A firefighter accused of simple assault has been reinstated at one of his jobs.
Derry Town Administrator Galen Stearns confirmed to NH1 that Michael Willinsky has been placed back on the job as a firefighter and EMT.
However, in Chester, where he is deputy fire chief, Willinsky is still on unpaid suspension.
That town will not make a decision on Willinsky's job status until after he appears in court to answer the assault charges. After that it will be up to the board of selectmen in Chester as to whether he is reinstated.
Willinsky is accused of assaulting a woman on Sept. 16.
A trial date has been set for Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. in Derry district court.
