Deputy State Epidemiologist leaving for Liberia
CONCORD - New Hampshire's Deputy State Epidemiologist announces she is going to Liberia to help in the fight to contain the ebola virus.
Dr. Elizabeth Talbot said, "It's been a difficult personal and professional decision to do so, but I'm really compelled that this is a disaster in West Africa and is likely to spread further and there's really no end in sight in the current paradigm."
Dr. Talbot, who is also an Associate Professor at Dartmouth, is joining a team with the International Medical Corp to open an ebola university to train incoming clinicians.
She's scheduled to leave next weekend and plans to remain there for four to six weeks.
