Defense attorney seeks to withdraw from St. Paul's School sex assault case

CONCORD - The attorney for a former St. Paul's School student who is accused of sexual assaulting another student asked to withdraw from the case earlier this week.

James Moir who represented Owen Labrie cited a breakdown in communications as a reason for the withdrawal.

Merrimack County Superior Court Judge Larry Smukler granted the request once an appearance is filed by Labrie's new representation.

Labrie was scheduled for a plea and sentencing hearing on Nov. 13.

He is next scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 20.
