BOSTON — There are quite a few A-list actors that will be playing real Bostonians in Mark Wahlberg's movie about the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings but one Bostonian will be playing himself, according to boston.com.
David Ortiz will recreate the moment he told Fenway Park, "This is our f—ing city," on April 20, 2013, after Boston Police captured and convicted bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
There is no word yet on when the scene will be filmed, but The Hollywood Reporter reported that the filming will take place on a soundstage, rather than at Fenway Park.
The movie has been shooting all over Boston throughout the month of April, including on Boylston Street during the 2016 Boston Marathon and at the late MIT police officer, Sean Collier's, home.
The film, Patriots Day is set to hit theaters in Boston on December 21.
