Dartmouth-Hitchcock offering screening clinics after patient found to have scabies


LEBANON - Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is offering free screenings for the skin condition scabies after discovering a patient in the hematology/oncology unit has the condition.

A hospital said Thursday that staff members and other patients who had direct contact with the patient from Aug. 14 to Sept. 26 have been contacted to attend the screening. However, the hospital is inviting visitors to the unit to also attend the clinics.

The clinics are scheduled for Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, from 6:30 a.m.- 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, from 7 a.m.- 1 p.m. in Auditorium C-D in the main hospital. Parking is reserved for the clinic in the main hospital lot.

The hospital has also set up a public inquiry line through the New Hampshire State Department of Health and Human Services to answer any questions our employees, patients, visitors or families may have. The number is 603-271-9461; the inquiry line will be available: Thursday, October 2, 10 a.m.- 8 p.m.; Friday, October 3, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.; Saturday, October 4, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sunday, October 5, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Monday, October 6, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
