WalletHub's data uses the median home value of approximately $179,000, the latest number available. Using that information, a New Hampshire homeowner would pay $3,838.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, homeowners in Hawaii would pay only $487 on a home of the same value.

The median value for a home in New Hampshire is $237,300. The median value in Hawaii is $515,300

Quoting information from the U.S. Census Bureau, WalletHub says Americans pay 2,149 on property taxes for their homes each year. Additionally, the country's 27 states that require vehicle property taxes average $402.
