Crossfit gym in Manchester raises money for community center
MANCHESTER—A crossfit gym holds an event to honor a fallen Manchester police officer.
"Really there's no words for it, it's completely amazing it's just a wonderful uplifting experience," said Kelly Parker, who took part in fundraiser at Crossfit Ad Finem.
Crossfit Ad Finem put on a set of fundraiser workouts to honor fallen officer, Michael Briggs of Manchester. 10 years ago Officer Briggs was responding to a domestic disturbance and was fatally shot.
"We wanted to do kinda do a fundraising workout in honor of his service for the city of Manchester as well as just kind of our way of saying thank you to police, fire first responders and all of military branches for doing what they do," said Matt Cote, Owner Crossfit Ad Finem in Manchester.
The event featured four divisions to support all levels of experience from beginner to advance crossfitters. All of the proceeds go to the Michael Briggs Community Center in the heart of the city.
"Do school work and learn to box and just kinda hang out to get away from whatever they need to get away from," said Cote.
Cote also says the fundraiser will become an annual event honoring all fallen police and firefighters.
