Crimeline for Hamptons is offering a $1000 reward for anyone with information about the sand castle vandalism

HAMPTON — Crimeline for Hamptons, Inc. is offering a $1000 reward for any tip that leads them to the conviction of the vandals who have destroyed many of the pieces displayed at Hampton Beach.

The vandals destroyed pieces that were displayed at the 16th Annual Hampton Beach Master Sand Sculpting Classic and were ruined in the early morning hours of Friday. "It’s beyond our comprehension why anyone would do this to the fascinating artwork and the tradition that families have enjoyed for years," said the group’s acting chairperson Mary Ganz.

Ganz also noted that people travel to Hampton Beach to visit this event on a yearly basis and look forward to seeing all the different displays.

Crimeline for the Hamptons, Inc. has set up an anonymous tip text line that people with information can contact. Tips can be submitted at by selecting "Hamptons" as the region, or text the word CRIMES (274637) with the keyword "Hamptons" and leave a tip in the message area.
