ROCHESTER — Police arrested a Somersworth woman Tuesday night on drunken driving charges after she crashed her car.
According to Rochester police, around 9:25 p.m., they responded to the area of 69 Autumn St. for a report of a car that had crashed into a tree.
Police said they found a silver 2011 Nissan Versa with heavy front-end damage crashed into a tree. The driver, Andrea Burgos, 18, of Somersworth, sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
After an investigation, police determined that Burgos was traveling west on Autumn Street when she struck a parked vehicle that was parked on the side of the road. Her vehicle then went off the roadway and slammed into a tree.
Officers subsequently arrested Burgos and charged her with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a class B felony. Police said her charge is a class B felony due to the extent of her injuries. Burgos was released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail and has a court date at Strafford County Superior Court on Oct. 5.
Police said Burgos’s vehicle sustained heavy damage in the crash and had to be towed from the scene.
