Police: Massachusetts Man Charged With Trafficking Drugs In School Zone, One Other Arrested
LOWELL, Massachusetts - Lowell police seized marijuana, cocaine, and heroin, from two different residences this week leading to two arrests.
Joshua Ruiz, 25, of Lowell was the first to be arrested on April 12.
After an ongoing investigation police executed a search warranted at 18 Chambers Street, where they found over six grams of heroin, three grams of cocaine, 10 ounces of marijuana, $1050, and materials typically used for drug distribution, police say,
Ruiz was then arrested and charged with possession of heroin, cocaine, and marijuana with the intent to distribute.
He was arraigned in Lowell District Court on April 13.
Oscar Soto Romero, 41, of Lowell was arrested on April 13.
Police say they executed a search warrant at 257 School St. where they found 125 grams of heroin, 29 grams of cocaine, $4,882, and packaging materials.
Romero subsequently arrested and charged with trafficking heroin over 100 grams, trafficking cocaine over 18 grams, trafficking heroin and cocaine in a school zone, and a warrant for narcotics charges from Lawrence District Court.
He is expected to be arraigned in Lowell District Court on the 16.
