NH Man Let 11-Year-Old Drive with 3-Year-Old in Back Seat
MANCHESTER — A man has been arrested after police said he allowed his girlfriend's 11-year-old son to drive his SUV with a toddler in the back seat.
Police said they pulled over a 2002 Acura MDX near Blucher Street around 6:20 p.m. Friday after noticing several infractions in the area of Putnam Street.
Enrique Moreno, 37, of Manchester, who was a passenger in the SUV, got out of the vehicle and tried to speak with the officer before the officer approached the driver's side window.
The officer noticed that the driver did not appear to be of age, so he removed the keys from the ignition and had the boy get into the back seat with his 3-year-old brother.
During Moreno's arrest, officers found a small amount of marijuana, heroin and cocaine, police said.
The children were placed in their mother's custody at the scene.
Moreno is charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of possession of controlled drug.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on Monday.
