NH Man Faces Felony After Police Say He Crashed Car, Left Passenger in Road and Fled
MERRIMACK-Police are blaming an alleged drunk driver for crashing his car and leaving his passenger in the middle of a Merrimack roadway Thursday.
Jack Duffy, 21, of 5 Cynthia Road in Merrimack was arrested for aggravated OUIL felony and conduct after an accident after he allegedly rolled his 2006 Acura RSX and ran away from the crash on foot with his passenger Jack Randall, 20, on Boston Post Road with life threatening injuries.
Police responded to Boston Post Road near Seavern's Bridge Road about 4:42 Thursdayi for a reported motor vehicle crash. It was there they found Randall after they say Duffy allegedly failed to keep his car on the road while negotiating a turn when it went off the road, hit trees and rolled over, throwing his passenger out of the car.
Police eventually found Duffy on Boston Post Road away from the crash seen. Randall was flown to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment of his injuries. His condition is unknown.
Police say Speed and impairment appear to be factors in the crash and the accident remains under investigation by the Merrimack Police Department.
Duffy was being held on $25,000 cash or surety bail.
