NH Man Arrested After 'Erratically' Driving an ATV On the Interstate
After receiving reports of an ATV driving erratically on the highway, police arrest a 19-year-old.
Derek C. Meyer, 19, of Northwood was arrested and charged by state police with aggravated DWI, reckless operation, and disobeying a police officer.
Police received numerous complaints on Friday of a an ATV traveling on Interstate 393 westbound onto Interstate 93 Northbound. The operator, later identified as Meyer, was reportedly driving erratically.
Police caught up with Meyer on I-93 by exit 20 in Tilton, where they tried to pull the ATV over.
Meyer did not comply.
State police then said that the trooper following Meyer could tell the ATV was running out of fuel and did not pursue.
When the vehicle did run out of gas, Meyer was taken into custody when they discovered, prior to the ATV entering the Interstate system, Meyer lead Epsom and Northwood police on a pursuit.
Meyer was bailed on $10,000 personal recognizance bail and was given a Laconia District Court date of July 19.
