NH man arrested after allegedly trying to meet a 15-year-old for sexual acts
LEBANON — NH man arrested by Lebanon Police on charges of attempted human trafficking of a 15-year-old girl and certain use of prohibited computer services Tuesday afternoon.
Richard Byrne, 58, of Newbury, allegedly used Craigslist to meet with what he believed to be a young girl, but was actually specially trained Lebanon officers. Police said Byrne had highly sexual conversations with what he saw as a teenage girl, before arranging to meet her for sexual acts in a Lebanon apartment complex parking lot.
At the scene, police arrested Byrne for attempted human trafficking and other charges related to prohibited computer use.
His bail was set at $20,000, and he will be arraigned at Grafton County Superior Court August 2.
