'Mystery' Man Puts Manchester Officer on Hold
MANCHESTER — Officers placed a Concord man into custody for refusing to identify himself while standing in the middle of the street, police said.
Anthony McMann, 23, was questioned for several minutes Monday at 2 p.m. by a Manchester officer trying to issue a summons to him for standing in the middle of the street. He refused to provide a name and later gave the officer a false name and date of birth, police said.
Police placed McMann into custody and the officer found 4.1 grams of suspected heroin/fentanyl and one Naloxone pill during a search incident to arrest. Police said during the booking process officers discovered his true identity from his fingerprints.
McMann was charged with two counts possession of a controlled drug; pedestrian in a roadway, a violation;and unsworn falsification.
McMann was scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on Tuesday.
