2 NH Men Arrested for Operating Backhoe at Portsmouth Construction Site in Middle of Night
Police arrested two men accused of operating a backhoe in the middle of the night Saturday.
Police responded to the area of McDonough Street at 2:41 a.m. Saturday after a resident told them someone had been using a backhoe.
When officers arrived on scene, the two men ran off, police said. Officers found them hiding behind a building.
The two men were identified as Nicholas Honaker, 21, of Rochester and Brandon Guitierrez, 21, of Kingston.
Honaker is charged with resisting arrest, unauthorized use of propelled vehicle. Guitierrez is charged with resisting arrest. All the charges are misdemeanors.
The backhoe belongs to belongs to Park Construction Corp., of Fitzwilliam. It's unclear how the two men started the backhoe, police said.
The two men were released on personal recognizance bail. They are scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 6 in Portsmouth district court at 8 a.m.
