Crackdown on drunk driving in Epping leads to 2 DWI arrests


EPPING - Police stopped 329 vehicles and took three people into custody at a sobriety checkpoint on Route 125 on Friday.

Those arrested were:

Michael Coombs, 28, of Lowell Mass. charged with DWI and transporting drugs
Thomas Lefebvre,30, of Manchester, charged with DWI

A third person was taken into protective custody but not charged: Norman Coombs, 43, of Pelham, police said. The sobriety checkpoint was conducted by state police from Troop A along with Epping police officers.

Those arrested are scheduled to be arraigned in the 10th Circuit Court-Exeter on September 10.
