Crack-cocaine seized, 4 kids taken after mom arrested for being suspected drug dealer

MANCHESTER — Four children were taken from their home after their mother was found with over 5 grams of crack-cocaine in Manchester on Wednesday.

Sandra Quintanilla, 39, of Manchester, was arrested after a brief investigation led police to her apartment at 73 Maple St.

The detective entered her apartment at about 2:40 p.m. and arrested Quintanilla on two outstanding warrants for sale of a narcotic drug.

Police lovated and seized 5.9 grams of crack-cocaine, over $1,000 cash, and many small plastic bag's commonly used to package narcotics. Quintanilla's eight-month-old son was found sleeping in one of the bedrooms, while her other three children were at school at the time of the incident.

All four kids reside in the apartment with their mother, so they were placed in the care of the Division of Children, Youth and Families because Quintanilla had no family to speak of in the immediate area.

Quintanilla was charged with two counts of sale of a narcotic drug and is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on Thursday.
