BERWICK — The Berwick Police Department arrested Adam Brake, 28, and Sabrina Goodrich, 20, on Tuesday for their connection to a series of burglaries.

The two have allegedly committed over a dozen burglaries and have stolen jewelry, electronics, computers, televisions, money and more than 20 firearms in southern Maine.

Burglaries were reported in Lebanon, Berwick, North Berwick and South Berwick since the middle of May. Investigators received a tip telling them to focus on a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee that had been in the area and had been reported as seen fleeing from scenes of burglaries.

Police were canvasing a neighborhood after a reported burglary when they saw a vehicle that matched the description on Little River Road in Berwick.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on the Jeep and both Brake and Goodrich confessed.

The two were taken into custody and charged.

Brake was charged with burglary and is currently on the U.S. Federal Probation for Trafficking in Narcotics. Goodrich was also charged with Burglary.

Investigators learned that Brake and Goodrich were committing these burglaries to support their heroin addiction. The two also had their 4-year-old son and 8-month-old daughter in the car with them during most of the alleged burglaries.

The children were taken by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services Child Protection Unit.

Brake was arraigned on Thursday and his bail was set at $25,000 cash and a warrant has been issued by U.S. Probation for Probation Violation and has an additional $25,000 bail with the warrant. He is still in custody.

Goodrich was released on $5,000 cash and is scheduled to appear in court on July 8.
